Proton Set to Increase Car Prices Soon, Bookings to Resume

Proton, one of the leading automakers in Pakistan, is expected to raise car prices and resume bookings in the coming weeks. The ongoing economic crisis and government-imposed import restrictions have severely impacted the car industry, resulting in production shutdowns and reduced inventory for various automakers.

In response to the challenging market conditions, Proton has taken the decision to temporarily halt bookings for its vehicles. Furthermore, the company has removed the car prices from its official website, indicating an imminent price revision.

According to a representative from an Al-Haj Proton dealership in Islamabad, Proton is preparing to reopen bookings at new prices. Although an exact date was not disclosed, the representative mentioned that the booking resumption is likely to occur in mid-to-late June.

Proton had gained traction in the Pakistani market with the introduction of its popular model, the Proton X70. However, the economic difficulties experienced in the country have hindered its progress. On the other hand, the Proton Saga, another model offered by the company, still has a considerable way to go in terms of sales and popularity when compared to its competitors.

As Proton readies itself to increase car prices and resume bookings, potential buyers in Pakistan will need to stay informed about the upcoming changes. The economic situation and import restrictions continue to present challenges for the automotive industry, affecting both car manufacturers and consumers alike.
